Over the bridge to the Slaughterhouse

I just finished The Other Side of the Bridge by Mary Lawson, a Canadian writer who lives in England. She writes about Northern Ontario for thematic reasons. I met her once.

She writes in a very simple, straightforward way which highlighted the central mystery of her first novel, Crow Lake. Unfortunately there isn't really a central mystery to her second book. It was still a pretty good story, but lacked the forward momentum of Crow Lake.

Anyhooooooo, it's on to Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut now! I don't know anything about it, but here we go!
