What would title this post?
Have you ever been listening to a favourite song, perhaps singing along with it's lyrics, only to have someone say "That's not even remotely accurate"? So you look up the lyrics and see that what you've been singing all along, either out loud or in your head, is something completely different than what the artist intended. Ever feel like your version is better?
I'm in conflict with a song at the moment. It is "Live for the Sounds" by Brooke Waggoner. This is the lyric as I hear it:
Why do you ask do you ask me why?
I live for the sad, sick, kingly wisdom
And the real lyric is this:
Why do you ask do you ask me why?
I live for the sounds and gain their wisdom
Maybe it's part of the King Lear obsession I've been dealing with recently. Either way, I kind of like my version better. Which is kind of silly, really. Brooke Waggoner is much more talented than I am. I could never write a song, let alone enough songs to comprise an album. I guess I likes what my brain makes up.
And now you know that. You watched it! You can't UN-watch it!

I thought that the first line of the chorus in Viva La Vida was "I hear the General's bells a ringin'" until like two days ago.
I mean I have no idea why I thought the General would have bells... but that's what I was thought it was.
The actual line:
"I hear Jerusalem's bells a ringin'"
I guess I should put some effort into figuring out the historical significance now.
