I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed...

WHERE WERE YOU?!?!?!?!?

So I said, "Fine. I'll rock this ol' house my damn self!" But then Aimee Leonard showed up and I had a partner. Oliver Black played a kick-ass set to a surprisingly bare Townehouse tonight, and I had a blast!

At first I felt a little dumb showing up alone in an Oliver Black t-shirt (alone because everyone had to work, or was poor, or had an allergic reaction to dragons), but what that meant was that I got to hang out with the band for a while before the show. I came in and Serena (vocals) came up to me and said "Hey! The shirt!" So we chatted and I bought her a shot. Then Greg (bass) came over and we talked about how much the Laughing Buddha ruled and how the prostitutes on Elgin St. need to be more overt so fathers can say to their sons "That's a prostitute, my boy. You can buy sex from them." They both seemed pretty excited when I told then I had been in Welland a few days earlier.

The place was moderately full when I got there, but it turned out that most of the people were there for the openers, two local girls, one of whom played the saxophone. Have you ever been to a concert and felt like the band was playing just for you? Well, this time it was true. There were others, but I was the only one rocking out at the very front (until Aimee joined me and we were reunited in our singing along to "Where I Am")

The band played for a mere forty minutes, but I guess I can't blame them. There weren't that many people there and they have to be in Thunder Bay on Friday. I met Nick (guitar) and Allan (drums) after the show and what was cool was that they all remembered me from when they were in town two years ago. Woot! Anyhoo, for those of you who weren't there (ie/ all of you) here is a recreation of the night.

The night was eerie with the possibility of me feeling like an idiot as the only one there in an Oliver Black t-shirt. But then suddenly, everything went black and white...

Luckily the drum set snapped things back into colour.

Look out! Nick's tuning up! And he's artily lit! So Oliver Black took the stage at the Townehouse. There was rocking...

There was rolling...

There were leopard print stockings...

You can't hear it, but she's saying "grrrr...."

And for those of you for whom photos are not enough, some videos...

And then, just like that...

They were gone.

And on the way home.... I found a dollar!

Thanks Oliver Black!

I almost went...but then I didn't. This is probably want you don't want to hear. My dragon allergies were definitely acting up.
