Cute little voice, after 9pm lyrics. Ooo la la... She's been described as Liz Phair, but not as cynical. Plus, her cover of "Dancing in the Dark" is hilarious.
# Olga Bell
Olga Bell would be on this list if only for her stellar (and incredibly competent) cover of "Videotape/The Eraser," but her debut EP of original material is striking, energetic, and constantly surprising.
# Brooke Waggoner
Brooke Waggoner GAVE AWAY her debut EP "Fresh Pair of Eyes," and I still feel guilty I didn't pay for it. If her music is any indication of her personality, I want to hang out with her. I love how every song has a really positive vibe to it, and will occasionally break into an "I can't keep it in anymore" sort of revelry.
That's it for right now. I'm trying to be practical this year, not bestowing a "goddess" ranking on anyone I have a mild infatuation for, or who has one song I get hung up on and am unable to name another song from their catalog. Fabulous women who may yet make the list from this year are:
